XGI distributes Village Tronic’s VTBook

HANOVER, Germany and TAIPEI, Taiwan – Village Tronic and XGI announced that XGI Technology is starting distribution of Village Tronic’s unique graphics card for notebook computers: VTBook. Primary focus of XGI will be introducing VTBook into corporate key account and first tier manufacturer markets.

We are very pleased by this distribution agreement: it is a win-win situation both for XGI sales channel expansion and Village Tronic strategic presence in key market sectors.” – says Hubert Chen, Village Tronic CEO.

XGI and Village Tronic jointly showed VTBook in a breath-taking, multi-display setup in Las Vegas at CES 2005.
VTBook is a PC Card graphics card featuring a DVI-I video output, dual head capability, 32MB DDR memory, 2D/3D/DVD acceleration and is compatible with Windows, Macintosh and Linux portable systems.

VTBook allows to connect up to two additional external high performing displays to notebook and laptop computers, allowing to use them as real desktop computer replacement in specialized working environments like finance/trading, graphics, CAD and DTP. With VTBook in fact the last frontier of portable system expandability is broken, allowing multiple displays workstation to be built around mobile computers.
