XGI TECHNOLOGY supports the AMD ATHLON™ 64

Taipei, Taiwan, September 23, 2003 – XGI™ Technology, Inc. today announces that AMD Athlon™ 64 processors will be fully supported in its new ultra-high performance, DirectX® 9.0 graphics processors for desktop applications.

Recently announced from XGI headquarter in Taipei, Taiwan, this next-generation 3D graphics processor family brings the latest DirectX® 9.0 graphics features and image quality to users across the entire performance spectrum, while delivering real values to high-end, mainstream and entry-level desktop market segments alike.

“The XGI™ brand new desktop family brings full affordability to DirectX® 9.0 graphics capability from top to bottom, while the AMD Athlon™ 64 processor really elevates both graphics performance and image quality of Volari™ Duo graphics processor with the AMD Athlon™ 64 platform,” said Chris Lin, president and CEO for XGI™. “Combined together, end-customers of our products will be able to enjoy the latest 3D games and diversified multimedia experiences powered by AMD Athlon™ 64 processors, with the widest selection of price points and graphics performance levels.”

Manufactured with latest high-performance 0.13um CMOS process technology, the Volari™ desktop product family includes Volari™ V8, Volari™ V5 and Volari™ V3 targeted for high-end, mainstream and entry-level markets, respectively. The Volari™ V8 operates the graphics engine clocks in excess of 350MHz and supports DDR-II memory at up to 500MHz clock rate (or 1000 MB/sec).
